Hello, I’m Susan.
Your wellbeing starts with a conversation.

Here at Herb & Health, I practise traditional Chinese medicine through acupuncture, cupping and Chinese herbal care. You’ll find me in Market Village, inside the Stratford Centre.

I look at the person behind the appointment: your health history, daily routine and what matters to you. Listening is the starting point for discussing an approach that fits your circumstances.

Whether you’re considering acupuncture for the first time, curious about cupping or asking about herbs, I’ll explain the options, suitability and costs. You should have room to ask questions and decide at your own pace.

My aim is to make complementary care feel clear and personal, with your comfort and consent at the centre of each visit. We’ll discuss aftercare and review your experience together.

Ask us something
What treatments does Susan offer?

I offer acupuncture, cupping therapy and Chinese herbal care at Herb & Health. You can also visit the herbal shop to ask about products and individual advice. We’ll discuss which options may be suitable for you before agreeing a treatment.

How do I book, and should I book ahead?

Please call 07716 771765 to arrange an appointment with me. Booking ahead is recommended so we can agree a suitable time and allow space for your consultation. An enquiry is only a confirmed appointment once we have agreed the details.

Where are you, and when are you open?

You’ll find Herb & Health at 4a, Market Village, Stratford Centre, London E15 1XQ, inside the Stratford Centre. Our hours are Monday–Saturday: 10am–6.30pm. Sunday: Closed. Please call before travelling on bank holidays, as hours may change. View the map and directions.

What happens at my first appointment?

I’ll begin with a conversation about your health history, medicines, daily routine and priorities. We’ll explore suitable options, possible risks and costs together. Any treatment or herbal recommendation follows that discussion and your consent; you can ask questions throughout.

How much does a session cost?

Please contact me for the current price of your consultation, treatment or herbal products. I’ll explain the costs before you decide to proceed. Our confirmed price list will be published before launch.

How long should I allow for an appointment?

For planning, allow roughly 30–60 minutes and confirm the appointment length with me when booking. Timing depends on the consultation and treatment agreed. Your first visit includes time to discuss your health history and questions.

Does acupuncture hurt?

You may feel a brief prick, tingling or a dull ache when a needle is placed. Experiences vary. Please tell me if you feel uncomfortable so I can adjust or stop treatment.

Are there any side effects from acupuncture?

Possible effects include temporary soreness, minor bruising or a little bleeding where needles are placed. Some people feel sleepy, faint or dizzy. More serious complications are rare. I’ll discuss the risks and your suitability before treatment; don’t drive if you feel drowsy afterwards.

Will cupping leave marks?

Cupping can leave temporary circular marks and may cause tenderness or skin irritation. I’ll explain what to expect, possible risks and aftercare, and check whether it is suitable for you before we begin.

Can I buy herbs without having acupuncture?

Yes. The herbal shop is a separate part of Herb & Health. Ask me about the products available and whether a consultation is needed. Herbs can interact with medicines and aren’t suitable for everyone, so speak with your GP or pharmacist before taking them alongside prescribed treatment.

Are these therapies suitable for everyone?

No. Suitability depends on your health, medicines and circumstances. Please tell me if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, take blood-thinning medicines, have a bleeding disorder or have another medical concern. Complementary therapies do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment; don’t stop prescribed medicines or delay medical care.

How many sessions will I need?

There isn’t a fixed number that suits everyone. We’ll discuss an initial plan, review how you feel and decide together whether further appointments are appropriate. Individual experiences vary, and a particular result cannot be guaranteed.

Do you offer massage?

No. My practice at Herb & Health focuses on acupuncture, cupping therapy and Chinese herbs.
